About the location

Nestled on a mountain amongst the kopjies and jagged rocks that tell an intriguing story, lies a place of serenity and tranquility - Misverstand Boutique Farm Lodge - a place of renewal. The Lodge is situated midway between Potchefstroom and Parys on the UNESCO Vredefort Dome World Heritage Site. Perfectly positioned and blending into the fascinating landscape left behind by the impact of the world's oldest and largest known meteorite, you will find a place to relax and unwind.

Both Potchefstroom and Parys are around a half hour by car from the Lodge. Potchefstroom is a bustling university town and centre for the local agriculture and resources sectors. Parys is a much smaller town that the Vaal River flows through and which has a very strong tourism focus. The town contains numerous antique stores and a number of other quirky and interesting shops, coffee shops and an ever evolving restaurant scene. Good roads connect both towns to Gauteng with the N1 national highway passing just east of Parys and the N12 going through Potchefstroom. Misverstand is reached via the R53 that connects the two towns and a final 10km stretch of good farm gravel road.
